Posting jobs online can be a challenging experience for those that are venturing in to the experience for the first time. Surprisingly, there are literally hundreds, maybe thousands of people that are in the process of researching web sites right now in an effort to discover the best places to post jobs and recruit online.

Fast Company has published a list of the 25 Top Jobs for 2005, based on four criteria: job growth, salary potential, education level, and room for innovation. The ranking relies on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and Salary.com. It is curious that there is almost no overlap between this list and the top 25 jobs in Indeed’s Jobgeist index of most frequently occurring jobs. Most frequent occurrence is, of course, not the same thing as the ‘best’ jobs according to Fast Company’s criteria. Nevertheless, it shows how sensitive such rankings are to small changes in assumptions when there are thousands of different job titles. Source: 25 Top Jobs for 2005
